In 2008, the MRW (Ministry of the Walloon Region) and the MET (Ministry of Equipment and Transport) merged into a single entity called Public Service of Wallonia. With that came a new operating principle focusing on facilitating the exchange of information and harmonising public action. Our objective is to optimize the quality and effectiveness of the services offered to citizens in order to better respond to the new needs of society. SPW comprises a general secretariat, a cross-functional general directorate, and seven operational directorates. The general secretariat has transversal competences and interfaces between the government and all the administrative services, as well as the following services: personnel management, recruitment, training, human resources management, and legal affairs. SPW counts 11 sites located across Wallonia.
