José Adriasola-Velasco has more than 20 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering. His current work position is Lead of the Geotechnical and Hydraulic Engineering Services (G&HES) for the Mining & Metals business line at Bechtel. José has been involved in performing and supervising dozens of hydraulic transients analyses for different industrial facilities, including long distance pipelines and liquid distribution networks, both pumped and driven by gravity, conveying water, slurries and other rare liquids, such as milk of lime and liquid caustic soda. José has taught part-time different courses on hydraulic engineering at Universidad de Los Andes (2005-2009) and P. Universidad Católica de Chile (2010-2014, 2021), both in Santiago, Chile. Currently, José is a member of the Hydraulic Engineering Major Committee at P. Universidad Católica de Chile and co-opted member of the IAHR Hydraulic Structures Committee and Transient Flows Working Group. José holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, a Major on Hydraulic Engineering and a M.Sc. on same subject (P. Universidad Católica de Chile). Since 2013 he is one of the Bechtel Distinguished Technical Specialists and he actively participates and contributes to different professional societies.
