Dr. Qian Yu is a senior engineer currently working at the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), and one member of IAHR IWHR Beijing Young Professionals Network. She obtained her doctoral degree in hydraulic engineering from Tsinghua University in 2015. From October 2013, she worked at the Delft University of Technology as a visiting Ph.D. student for a whole year. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences, and co-authored one English chapter and one Chinese monograph. She also worked for the permanent secretariat of the International Conference on Flood Management (ICFM) during 2018-2020. In addition, she is conducting and has participated in more than 20 scientific projects and international cooperation projects, such as projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Sino-Finnish cooperation project, WB and ADB TA project.
